The Director, Global Workplace Services is responsible for shaping and leading the global strategy for workplace and soft services across regions, ensuring alignment with business priorities, operational standards, and regional needs. This role drives consistency, innovation, compliance, and service excellence across J&J workplaces, with accountability for strategy, policy, standards, supplier governance, program performance, workplace analytics, dashboards, audit readiness, and continuous improvement.
This role partners closely with regional FM teams, Real Estate, Strategic Space Planning, Project Delivery, HR, IT, Security, EHS, Procurement, Finance, Global Health Services, and other enterprise functions to ensure workplace solutions are innovative, scalable, compliant, and aligned with business needs and employee experience expectations.
The position serves as the senior stakeholder and subject matter expert for workplace strategy and soft services, representing the function in leadership forums, governance councils, and executive updates.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, along with deep experience in workplace strategy, facilities management, service delivery, and outsourced operations across both Supply Chain and non-Supply Chain environments, as well as experience using benchmarking, employee feedback, and external trends to shape future-ready workplace programs and service models.
You will be responsible for:
Develop and continuously evolve the global workplace and soft services strategy, including associated policies, standards, guidelines, and playbooks, to support business objectives and enterprise consistency.
Own governance for workplace and soft services programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal controls, enterprise risk frameworks, and industry best practices.
Lead the implementation, review, audit, and continuous improvement of standards and processes, including identification of non-conformance, corrective actions, and follow-through to strengthen global consistency and operational discipline.
Use internal data, employee feedback, benchmarking, and external trends to identify opportunities and shape future-ready workplace and service programs.
Own workplace and soft services analytics, dashboards, and program metrics to inform decision-making, monitor performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
Lead innovation pilots, new workplace concepts, and service enhancements, scaling successful solutions across regions where appropriate.
Provide strategic oversight for soft services delivery models, supplier governance, and outsourced provider performance to drive service quality, efficiency, compliance, employee experience, and cost effectiveness.
Partner with regional FM teams and service providers to identify operational improvements, risk reduction opportunities, and service continuity needs while maintaining aligned global standards.
Support workplace project planning and delivery by integrating workplace strategy, service readiness, change management, and operational requirements into new or modified workplace solutions.
Act as a senior stakeholder and subject matter expert for workplace strategy and soft services, providing strategic leadership across enterprise and regional forums.
Collaborate across E&PS, HR, IT, Security, Procurement, Finance, EHS, Global Health Services, Real Estate, and business leaders to align workplace programs with enterprise and regional priorities.
Lead communication, training, stakeholder engagement, and change management activities to support adoption of standards, new programs, and workplace solutions globally.
Prepare executive presentations, strategic updates, and dashboard reporting for senior leadership.
Build team capability in workplace strategy, service excellence, and governance while promoting broader organizational development through knowledge-sharing, cross-functional collaboration, and special assignments.
Maintain the organizational expertise needed to deliver strategic, scalable, and operationally effective workplace solutions across a global environment.
Ensure business continuity and infrastructure management standards are defined, maintained, tested, and aligned with enterprise risk expectations.
Support compliance efforts through standards governance, audits, issue resolution, and corrective action tracking.
Qualifications
Required:
University/Bachelor Science degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Architecture or similar degree required. Master Science degree in engineering, Business, Architecture or similar preferred.
A minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience.
Strong proven experience in facilities soft services, workplace and/or engineering & maintenance function
Strong management and technical skills.
Experience related to Service delivery, risk management, quality, safety, and compliance.
Knowledge of business strategy and projected business unit requirements for the workplace, infrastructure, real property, and facilities, including impact on the portfolio plan.
Ability to make decisions across business units with authority.
Preferred:
A minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
Previous experience in Healthcare industry.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
Experience with MS Office tools.
Experience/knowledge of Project Management.
Other:
This position may require 25% of domestic and/or international travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$150,000.00 - $258,750.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
