In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations our Treasury, BPIF & Taxation Division is looking for Financial Analyst.
The Financial Analyst will support the Assistant Treasurer in carrying out the accountabilities of the Pension, Investment fund and Treasury Management functions in accordance with applicable legislation, policies, programs, procedures and agreements. The role will also provide advice, guidance and support to team members in carrying out their financial control accountabilities. Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to work within strict deadlines, work independently and produce quality output in a rapid work environment.
This is a temporary position, which may be for a period of up to 60 months, offers a competitive compensation package and can be based on-site at either Tiverton, ON or Toronto, ON office locations.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to the Finance department in carrying out the accountabilities in accordance with applicable legislation, programs, policies, procedures and agreements.
Prepare daily analysis of the pension, investment fund, and treasury cash flow requirements.
Maintain custody reports and prepare monthly reconciliation reports, including the calculation of fund yields and analysis of realized/unrealized gains and losses. Calculate and deposit employee and employer contributions as required.
Review and process invoices relating to the operation of the pension and investment funds.
Assist with investment performance measurement reporting, including the preparation of monthly and quarterly investment reports.
Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements using the applicable accounting framework.
Maintain appropriate fund accounting processes, including tracking of actual cash flows versus accruals.
Support treasury activities including cash management, banking administration, reporting, and liquidity monitoring.
Support controls oversight and compliance efforts.
Work with external auditors to efficiently support audit procedures and requests.
Support simplification and improvement efforts.
Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Theoretical knowledge and relevant experience within the designated discipline is required.
Demonstrated ability to achieve task results consistent with requirements for safety, quality, quantity, timeliness, and resource allowance.
Able to demonstrate capability related to analytical thinking and problem solving, work planning and organizing, and communication skills.
Demonstrated motivation and commitment to achieving organizational goals and to continual improvement.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team and to lead others towards common goals.
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
This knowledge is normally considered to be acquired through the successful completion of a four-year university education in a relevant discipline, or attainment of a professional accounting designation or by having the equivalent level of education.
A professional designation (i.e. CPA) is preferred.
A period of over 4 years and up to 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
