Role Overview
As the strategic finance partner to the Vice President of the Coupang Ads Business team, the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis leads financial strategy, business planning, budgeting, and performance management. Leveraging data-driven insights and rigorous financial frameworks, this role is responsible for evaluating business dynamics, optimizing capital allocation, maximizing profitability, and delivering actionable strategy to drive sustainable long-term growth across various business teams, including sales, sales operations, marketing, data insights and customer success, collaborating closely with senior business leaders.
What You Will Do
- Direct and manage end-to-end financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, quarterly goal setting and forecasting, and commercial planning for the Ads Business team.
- Drive rigorous sales Plan vs. Actual variance analysis to uncover performance drivers, identify risks, and execute proactive mitigation strategies.
- Establish ROI-driven capital allocation frameworks to ensure enterprise resources are deployed toward high-yield growth opportunities and strategic priorities, in particular with regards to sales productivity.
- Conduct granular evaluations of P&L structures, revenue models, and margin dynamics to maximize ad revenue across product lines and service offerings.
- Continuously monitor OPEX efficiencies to expand margins and maximize free cash flow.
- Build unified cross-functional alignment across Business, Product, Engineering, and Sales/Marketing teams to connect operational KPIs to financial performance.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing FP&A organization while driving automation and advanced data analytics across all workflows.
Basic Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience with a core concentration in FP&A and Corporate Finance within global tech, large-scale services, e-commerce, or high-growth industries.
- 5+ years of proven team management experience, with a track record of partnering directly with top management to drive enterprise-level decision-making.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale enterprise or major business unit P&Ls (hundreds of millions to billions USD) and driving capital deployment.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex data analytics into clear, compelling business narratives to influence non-finance executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or a related field.
- CPA, CA, CFA
- Profound experience in online advertising.
- Working experience in a multinational company with exposure to Asia.
