- Develop expertise in other credit markets and products for potential inclusion in the portfolios.
- Actively monitor existing portfolio positions and make relative value decisions based on a combination of bottom-up and top-down fundamental credit research.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the risks of fixed income securities and companies.
- Participate in meetings with corporate issuers and industry analysts.
- Conduct research on global economies, financial markets, industries, and individual companies.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of materials for credit, sector, or topical reviews.
- Assist with the integration of new technologies to streamline the investment management process.
- Contribute to model review and documentation, test quantitative output against fundamental credit judgment, and flag where model assumptions break down.
- Provide analytical support on portfolio construction, factor and risk modelling, back-testing, and scenario and stress testing across mandates.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in fixed income portfolio management and/or credit analysis.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related discipline.
- Proven credit due diligence and underwriting skills, including research reports on specific companies and/or industries.

- Experience trading money market and fixed income instruments is considered an asset.
- Experience with levered mandates, credit-focused hedge funds, global credit markets, and/or leveraged finance research (HY/LL) is considered an asset.
- Ability to work with large data sets and strong technical proficiency in statistical analysis, including statistical programming languages, is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with quantitative investment management techniques such as factor models, systematic screening and signal construction, portfolio optimization, back-testing, and performance and risk attribution is considered an asset.
- CFA, CA, CPA, MBA, or CBV is considered an asset.
- Willingness to travel within North America.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.

This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $80,000 - $115,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and overall fit.
