Astrolab is The Lunar Operations Company. We design and build the systems and hardware the lunar economy will come to depend on — rovers, power, and data networks for sustained operations on the Moon. We are focused on the problems that must be solved before the next chapter of human exploration can scale. The Moon does not forgive untested assumptions. The people who work here know that, and they wouldn't have it any other way.

We seek motivated, creative, and exceptional individuals to join our world-class team. As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience and work alongside talented engineers to support the development of lunar rovers and production processes. This program will provide exposure to advanced manufacturing and testing processes, mentorship from experienced engineers, and opportunities to develop practical skills in troubleshooting, process improvement, and teamwork.

Opportunities:
  1. Avionics Manufacturing Engineering
  2. Structures and Mechanisms Manufacturing Engineering
  3. Vehicle Integration and Test Engineering
  4. Quality Engineering

What you'll do:

  • Production: Assist with the fabrication, assembly, and testing of avionics systems, structures, mechanisms, and electromechanical components
  • Systems Integration: Support integration efforts for rover subassemblies and fully integrated systems
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development of tooling, work instructions, and process documentation, with an emphasis on improving manufacturability and enhancing vehicle reliability

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (e.g., engineers, technicians, and managers) to ensure efficient and accurate production
  • Vehicle Testing: Participate in vehicle testing activities, both on-site and in specialized facilities

What you'll bring:

  • Basic programming experience using Python, LabVIEW, or a similar programming language
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or process improvement methodologies
  • Experience applying engineering principles in laboratory, project, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience collaborating on team-based engineering projects
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
