The Pre-Engineered Sr Technician will perform advanced Kitchen Suppression installation and service. The technician is capable of completing installation jobs independently while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company expectations.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead installation, commissioning, inspection, testing, and repair on complex pre-engineered systems with heavy emphasis on kitchen suppression systems.
Diagnose system failures and direct corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, manufacturer requirements, and AHJ expectations.
Review and validate inspection reports and documentation.
Mentor technicians and apprentices; provide field guidance.
Coordinate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues.
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles; ensure jobsite safety and cleanliness.
Respond to emergency service calls.
Use of hand tools and testing equipment.
Travel to job sites as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as a technician.
Tennessee state inspector license is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to independently complete projects.
Strong understanding of pre-engineered systems and applicable codes.
Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and manufacturer specifications.
Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license, if driving role.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.
Other Duties:
Adheres to Pye-Barker Fire & Safety policies, safety standards, and code of conduct.
