Description
About the Role
Join BOQ Finance as an Assistant Business Development Manager and play an important role in helping our Equipment Finance team turn broker opportunities into settled business. Working closely with our Regional Sales Manager and Business Development Managers, you’ll provide the technical, relationship and deal support that keeps opportunities moving through the origination pipeline and delivers a responsive experience for our broker network.
As a key connection point between brokers and our internal Credit Decisioning, Settlements, Service Operations, Know Your Customer and Broker Accreditation teams, you’ll support deals from initial quote and structure through to approval and settlement. You’ll prepare and review quotes, assess applications for alignment with policy, track pipeline and margin information, and help resolve broker enquiries within your delegated authority.
You’ll also support the day-to-day management of a defined broker portfolio, helping to strengthen relationships, maintain service standards and contribute to the continued growth of the region. Alongside this, you’ll coordinate broker onboarding and accreditation, support early-stage arrears and complaint matters, administer commission arrangements, and guide brokers and colleagues through changes to technology, processes and ways of working.
This is an opportunity to build on your asset finance expertise in a role that combines technical deal support, stakeholder engagement and commercial outcomes. You’ll have meaningful exposure across the equipment finance lifecycle while enabling our Business Development Managers to focus on originating and winning new business.
About You
You’ll bring experience from an Australian bank or asset finance organisation, together with a sound understanding of the Australian commercial equipment finance market. You may have supported a Business Development Manager, a regional sales team or other sales professionals, and you’ll be comfortable navigating quotes, deal structures, credit applications, documentation and settlement processes.
You’re a confident and professional communicator who enjoys building trusted relationships with brokers, senior stakeholders and internal partners. You know how to balance customer and broker needs with policy, risk appetite and regulatory requirements, and you’re comfortable working independently within established parameters while recognising when an issue needs to be escalated.
Highly organised and attentive to detail, you can manage competing priorities without losing momentum across the pipeline. You bring a genuine service mindset, strong relationship management capability and a practical approach to problem-solving. You’ll also be open to change and confident supporting others as new systems, processes and technology are introduced. A tertiary qualification in business or a related discipline would be well regarded but is not essential.
