About the Role

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across a range of hospital settings within Darling Downs Health. You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care within busy Emergency Departments, managing diverse patient presentations while supporting positive clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care across all patient acuity levels
• Perform triage assessments in accordance with the Australasian Triage Scale (ATS)
• Recognise and respond effectively to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications and emergency interventions within scope of practice
• Collaborate with medical officers, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support patient flow, escalation processes, and safe discharge planning
• Promote patient safety and quality standards within emergency services
• Provide support across acute care areas where required

What you'll need

• Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse Division 1)
• Minimum 1 year recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification
• Demonstrated triage experience and competency using the Australasian Triage Scale
• Ability to recognise and manage deteriorating patients in acute settings
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary emergency teams
• Australian working rights (non-sponsorship position due to contract timeframe)
