About the Role
Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across a range of hospital settings within Darling Downs Health. You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care within busy Emergency Departments, managing diverse patient presentations while supporting positive clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care across all patient acuity levels
- Perform triage assessments in accordance with the Australasian Triage Scale (ATS)
- Recognise and respond effectively to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within a fast-paced ED environment
- Administer medications and emergency interventions within scope of practice
- Collaborate with medical officers, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support patient flow, escalation processes, and safe discharge planning
- Promote patient safety and quality standards within emergency services
- Provide support across acute care areas where required

What you'll need
- Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse Division 1)
- Minimum 1 year recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification
- Demonstrated triage experience and competency using the Australasian Triage Scale
- Ability to recognise and manage deteriorating patients in acute settings
- Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary emergency teams
- Australian working rights (non-sponsorship position due to contract timeframe)
