‘Your role in achieving results:’
The Line Lead AOS will own a small business unit and drive performance of that area through execution of the operational excellence/lean program.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence (70%)
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity, reducing waste, eliminating downtime, and improving equipment reliability.
Utilize Lean and Operational Excellence methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, DMAIC, SMED, Root Cause Analysis) to identify and eliminate chronic losses.
Monitor and analyze performance KPIs, identify trends, and implement sustainable solutions that improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Implement and sustain standardized work, 5S, visual management, and autonomous maintenance practices.
Support capacity growth initiatives, process optimization projects, and minor capital investments that enhance operational performance.
Partner closely with Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve issues and drive business unit results.
People Leadership & Business Unit Management (30%)
Lead and develop the Process Lead and Maintenance Lead while influencing frontline employees across the business unit.
Coordinate daily production activities, production sequencing, and resource priorities to ensure targets are achieved.
Promote a strong culture of food safety, quality, and workplace safety through visible leadership and accountability.
Lead safety, quality, and customer complaint investigations and implement corrective actions.
Support training, performance management, employee development, and positive labor relations within a unionized manufacturing environment.
Drive change management initiatives and foster a culture of engagement, ownership, and continuous improvement.
‘What we are looking for to deliver these results:’
College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant field.
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a supervisor with direct involvement in a unionized environment required.
Minimum of two (2) years of strong experience with operational excellence/lean required.
Green Belt (an asset)
Computer literacy with MS Office (Word and Excel) and Power BI.
Knowledge of quality assurance systems HACCP and SQF (an asset).
