Overview
Position Purpose:
Provides paralegal support for claims, litigation, dispute resolution, insurance, and risk matters across the organization.
Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with management of claims, litigation, disputes, and insurance matter files.
- Track deadlines, reporting requirements, litigation milestones, and claim status updates.
- Coordinate collection, organization, review, and production of documents and records.
- Support responses to subpoenas, discovery requests, litigation holds, and other legal proceedings.
- Prepare claim summaries, matter reports, chronologies, and status updates for attorneys and leadership.
- Coordinate communications with outside counsel, insurers, brokers, experts, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with workers' compensation, automobile liability, general liability, property damage, insurance coverage, and other claims-related matters.
- Conduct research in support of claims, disputes, and litigation matters.
- Support dispute resolution efforts involving construction, engineering, non-payment, contract, and project-related claims.
- Assist with settlement documentation, releases, and other dispute-resolution materials.
- Maintain litigation and claims tracking systems and related reporting.
- Partner with legal, risk management, human resources, operations, finance, and project teams to support claims and litigation management activities.
- Support enterprise risk mitigation initiatives and other legal department projects as assigned.
- Cross-train to provide support for Legal Department operations, including Legal Inbox management, legal intake tracking, contract and NDA requests, DocuSign workflows, employee records requests, wage garnishments, subpoenas, and related legal support functions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate required
- Minimum of 5 years of paralegal, claims, litigation, insurance, or related legal experience required
- Experience supporting litigation, claims management, insurance, or dispute resolution matters.
- Strong proficiency with document management, records organization, and legal reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting construction, engineering, insurance, workers' compensation, or commercial litigation matters.
- Experience working with outside counsel, insurers, brokers, and risk management teams.
- Experience with claim tracking, litigation, and claims management.
- Experience supporting corporate departments and in-house legal teams.
Travel Requirements:
- 0-15% travel required for this position
