We are delighted to announce we are currently recruiting for a Project Planner to join our growing Naval Project Management team based at our Rugby (Newbold Road) site. Within this role you are responsible for ensuring project implementation as well as work packages and constraints are accurately integrated into a project planning scenario. You will monitor progress, keep plans updated and produce timely and accurate projections and reports ensuring that these are available for other departments and the customer as required.
This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance. Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority.
Other responsibilities of the role are:
- Using your technical skills and analytical thinking to solve problems and at times proposing different solutions outside of set parameters.
- Participates in supplier meetings and leads discussions on schedule. Receives and reviews supplier schedules and incorporates into the Arabelle master schedule
- Actively participates in the risk & opportunities process, identifying mitigation or action plans, and implementing them once validated. Running Schedule Risk Assessment meetings internally and with key suppliers
- Working collaboratively with multiple internal departments gathering updates and information on project related activity in order to arrive at decisions.
- Measures and communicates periodically the project performance, the trend indicators and the milestones achievement.
- Ensures a pro-active and transparent schedule activity forecasting in order to identify in advance potential delays and to suggest effective recovery action plans with the involved parties, under the direction of the Project Director.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable experience within a Project Planning or role involving the planning, documentation and execution of projects is essential for this role.
- Experience of P6 would be advantageous but not essential
- Previous knowledge or experience within a Manufacturing environment would be highly beneficial
- Project Management qualifications and/or knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies would be beneficial but not essential
