Job Functions
The following job function statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified. The job function statements reflect expectations of the fully trained, proficient incumbent who meets all performance criteria.
1. Specifies, designs, and installs production and facilities systems in assigned area; monitors systems and provides modifications as required to support model changes in assigned area; provides emergency response to daily manufacturing support problems.
2. Provides system problem solving in assigned areas; ensures continuous reliability and uptime improvements to systems in assigned areas; analyzes trends and symptoms, address quality and downtime concerns, and provide countermeasures in a timely manner.
3.Communicates with vendors and suppliers to ensure Nissan's QCDS goals and cost reduction objectives are met; works with vendors and suppliers on new technologies for better ways to implement manufacturing methods and produce quality products.
4. Maintains and updates documentation of new and existing systems in assigned areas; maintains and updates electrical, schematic, and mechanical drawings for new and modified equipment.
5. Assists in the development of budgets for assigned areas; prepares project folders and conducts model and capacity studies with budget development.
6. Provides training and information to maintenance and production personnel for new and existing equipment.
7. Assists manufacturing on productivity, ergonomic, quality and safety issues to ensure timely problem resolution.
8. As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Minimum Qualifications
The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.
1. Job Knowledge and Skill:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills, and analytical and problem solving skills.
2. Experience:Zero to two years of related experience at a professional level.
3. Experience:External: 0-2 years of related experience at a professional level.
Internal: 1-3 years of experience with problem solving, troubleshooting or similar experience.
4. Education:
External: A four year degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology required.
Internal: A four year degree or equivalency Equivalency will be considered for internal promotions with two years of experience equating to 1 year of education. i.e. Candidates with no degree but having 8 years of experience as a maintenance technician (journeyman level) or technologist (engineering or quality) will meet the educational requirements.
5. Computer Skills:Advanced knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to create specialized applications or products of a highly technical nature.
