$35.50 - $53.25Major Responsibilities:
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs diagnostic or therapeutic imaging equipment and systems utilizing established electronic tests and measurement equipment and techniques.
Responsibilities may include work on a mix of Biomedical and Diagnostic Imaging equipment, but majority of work will be related to complex Diagnostic Imaging equipment.
Performs any required general service on imaging equipment and systems, in accordance with corporate and department procedures, manufacturers recommendations, physicists’ specifications and/or other applicable codes, standards, accreditation requirements, and state and federal regulations as applicable regarding radiographic and diagnostic imaging equipment.
Provides equipment related operational support on Imaging equipment to medical and clinical staff. Interacts with clinical staff on a regular basis to ensure needs are being met.
Acts as a technical resource for Biomedical Technicians to help them grow in ability, responsibility, and experience.
Assists in grooming Biomedical Equipment Tech's to provide first call on imaging equipment.
Documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc. performed on all equipment as performed by self or vendors.
Installs or assists in the installation of new imaging equipment, modifications, tubes, transformers, etc.
As applicable, coordinates and communicates with a radiation physicist as part of equipment quality assurance testing, calibration, and disposal for site licensing needs with the State department of public health.
Requests/orders necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and contract relationships.
Escalates situations or questions beyond their scope of knowledge or responsibility to appropriate staff.
Participates in both internal and external educational programs through professional associations, technical training courses, and seminars to develop and maintain the required current technical aptitude.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience Required:
Typically requires 2 years of experience in Biomedical Equipment, which includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting experience, design, and modification and/or equivalent experience with biomedical imaging, which includes digital imaging technology, and networking technology.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products (primarily Word and Excel).
Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of networking technology.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task several projects.
Excellent human relations and communications skills.
Use of personal vehicle for travel to various sites is required/expected.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Walks, stands, and occasionally sits throughout the day.
Must be able to:
- lift up to 25 lbs. from floor to waist and up to 30 lbs. overhead.
- lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
Must be able to:
- push with 50 lbs. of force.
- pull with 40 lbs. of force.
Work atmosphere may contain dust/dirt fumes and odors.
Exposed to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. As a result, protective clothing must be worn as necessary.
Incumbent required to travel, thus will be exposed to road and weather conditions.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
