Position Summary
The Supply Chain Network Modeling Manager is responsible for leading the development and application of advanced supply chain network models that support operational decision-making across the enterprise. This role combines hands-on modeling expertise with people leadership responsibilities, managing a team of supply chain modelers and analysts while ensuring delivery of high-quality network design, transportation optimization, capacity planning, inventory optimization, and business continuity initiatives.
The Manager translates business challenges into analytical solutions that optimize cost, service, capacity, inventory, risk, and growth objectives. The role is accountable for developing team capabilities, establishing modeling standards and best practices, and ensuring successful execution of a portfolio of modeling projects aligned with organizational priorities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
People Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Supply Chain Modelers and Analysts.
- Conduct performance management, career development planning, and succession planning activities.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and capability development of modeling resources.
- Establish technical competency standards and promote continuous learning across the team.
- Foster collaboration, innovation, and a high-performance culture.
Project & Portfolio Leadership
- Manage a portfolio of network modeling, transportation optimization, simulation, and supply chain strategy projects.
- Prioritize initiatives based on business value, resource availability, and organizational objectives.
- Provide project oversight, quality assurance, and governance throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule and align with stakeholder expectations.
- Present recommendations and business cases to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
Supply Chain Modeling & Optimization
- Lead the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of end-to-end supply chain network models.
- Evaluate scenarios including network expansion, consolidation, facility location, inventory positioning, manufacturing footprint changes, transportation strategies, and capacity investments.
- Analyze tradeoffs between cost, service levels, inventory, risk, resilience, sustainability, and growth.
- Develop transportation optimization and cost-to-serve models.
- Support long-range planning, annual operating planning, and capital investment decisions through scenario analysis.
- Drive adoption of advanced analytics, optimization, simulation, AI, and emerging technologies.
Stakeholder Management & Consulting
- Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for analytics-driven decision making.
- Translate complex business problems into quantitative analyses and actionable recommendations.
- Facilitate workshops to define objectives, assumptions, constraints, and decision criteria.
- Communicate findings through executive presentations, dashboards, visualizations, and storytelling.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Process & Capability Development
- Establish and maintain modeling methodologies, governance processes, and best practices.
- Improve data quality, model documentation standards, and model validation procedures.
- Develop reusable templates, tools, and frameworks to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Support the evolution of Network Modeling as a Service (NMaaS) and consulting capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Work Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Analytics & Optimization.
- 2+ years of team management/leadership experience.
- Expertise translating business rules into modeling requirements and scenarios
- Expertise in network modeling, optimization, transportation, and operations research.
- Experience with supply chain network modeling tools, data analytics and visualization.
- Hands-on with network optimization tools (Optilogic, Llamasoft, Coupa, PowerBI, Alteryx, Databricks).
- Strong knowledge of supply chain design, inventory, warehousing, and capacity planning.
- Exposure to Operations and different supply chain strategies (store, crossdock, import, buy/lease, etc)
- Experience coaching and training modelers
Education Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.
Technical Skills
- Network optimization tools (Optilogic, Llamasoft, Coupa, or similar)
- Supply chain simulation and modeling tools
- Advanced Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI, and analytics platforms
