A veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Medical Director Veterinarian to provide high-quality medical care while helping lead the clinical team and support continued practice growth. The role offers medical autonomy, leadership responsibilities, mentorship opportunities, and potential pathways toward ownership and partnership.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive veterinary care, including general medicine and surgery.
• Diagnose conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Perform surgical and dental procedures as appropriate.
• Lead and support the veterinary and clinical team.
• Mentor veterinarians and other clinical staff.
• Promote high standards of patient care and medical quality.
• Communicate treatment recommendations clearly with clients.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Support a collaborative, positive practice culture.
• Maintain compliance with applicable veterinary, safety, and regulatory standards.

 

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Active or eligible state veterinary license.
• Current DEA license or ability to obtain upon hire.
• USDA accreditation or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Strong experience in general veterinary medicine and surgery.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with a veterinary team.
