Description
Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Marketing Technology Enablement serves as the technical architecture authority for marketing automation and CDW's marketing technology ecosystem. The role owns platform intake, triage, and the ongoing health of the martech estate, and partners closely with IT, Data, and Security teams to ensure scalable system design, stable integrations, and a proactive roadmap for feature development.
The core of the role is platform and integration architecture: designing, implementing, and governing API-driven, cloud-native integrations across CDP, CRM, journey orchestration, analytics, and activation platforms, and leading the marketing technology team that builds and supports them.
AI is an important but supporting part of this role. As generative, predictive, and agentic capabilities expand across campaign planning, audience intelligence, content operations, personalization, and measurement, this leader ensures the data foundations, integration patterns, and guardrails are in place to use them safely, moving ideas from use case to production to measurable business impact.
What You Will Do
Strategic Technical Architecture & System Design
• Define the end-to-end architecture for marketing automation, data, and AI, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure platforms and integrations.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications, reference architectures, and solution designs.
• Own intake, triage, prioritization, and resolution for platform requests, incidents, enhancements, defects, and AI use cases.
• Partner with IT and Data teams on data models, APIs, middleware, identity resolution, and infrastructure.
• Design and govern RESTful and event-driven APIs, including authentication, versioning, rate limits, error handling, and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate martech and AI platforms for integration maturity, transparency, data residency, and adoption complexity.
Cloud, Data & Integration Architecture
• Architect cloud-native integration solutions across AWS, Azure, or equivalent platforms.
• Design scalable batch, streaming, and real-time ingestion pipelines.
• Set monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting standards across integrations, automations, and AI services.
• Ensure secure, governed handling of PII, consent, and model-related data across all data flows.
• Own the identity and audience data model across CRM, CDP, and activation platforms.
• Assess technical debt, recommend re-architecture, and manage cloud, integration, and model consumption costs.
Operational Excellence & Governance
• Maintain platform health, performance, and governance across Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce CRM, AEP/RTCDP, Monday.com, and analytics tools.
• Ensure documentation, configurations, integrations, automations, and releases follow consistent governance and version control.
• Monitor usage, security, and stability; escalate risks proactively and maintain rollback plans for unexpected automation or AI behavior.
• Maintain system diagrams, data lineage, and API documentation as living artifacts.
• Operate AI governance across approved use, data classification, disclosure, bias review, audit trails, and automated decisioning.
• Oversee vendor technical deliverables for architecture, security, AI feature roadmaps, and model change notifications.
Enablement & Technical Leadership
• Own the feature lifecycle from requirements through prioritization, solutioning, QA, rollout, and change management.
• Maintain a roadmap aligned to marketing strategy, business needs, enterprise technology direction, and AI data readiness.
• Translate technical architecture into clear documentation and executive-ready summaries.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing technology team.
• Grow team AI fluency, from prompt design and evaluation to production model API workflows.
• Set priorities, capacity plans, and resource allocation.
• Drive adoption by translating complex martech and AI capabilities into clear guidance for cross-functional partners.
Project, Capacity & Investment Management
• Manage technical capacity, resource allocation, and integration demand.
• Oversee martech and AI implementations from business case through benefit realization.
• Prioritize roadmap investments based on scalability, risk, cost, and expected return.
• Own platform, integration, licensing, and model usage budgets.
• Build business cases that quantify efficiency, quality, and revenue impact.
Thought Leadership & Continuous Modernization
• Champion composable architecture, API-first design, and reusable services.
• Stay current on API standards, cloud models, and the AI platform landscape.
• Lead AI and machine-learning pilots with clear success criteria and a path to production.
• Represent marketing technology with vendors, partners, and industry peers.
AI Enablement & Decisioning
• Partner with Marketing, Data, and IT to define where AI supports campaign planning, personalization, decisioning, and analytics.
• Maintain a prioritized AI use case backlog across segmentation, scoring, content, conversational experiences, next-best-action, and data hygiene.
• Design AI-assisted workflows with human review points and governed knowledge sources.
• Partner with Legal, Privacy, Brand, and Security on acceptable use, consent, disclosure, and review requirements.
• Support workflow standards, documentation, and training that build practical AI fluency.
What We Expect of You
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in marketing technology, CRM integration, or enterprise integration engineering, or 11+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years designing and implementing RESTful APIs, including authentication, versioning, and governance standards.
• Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, JSON payload design, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience writing technical integration specifications.
• Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript/Node.js, or similar languages.
• Experience architecting cloud-native integrations using AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with event streaming platforms such as ON24 and Cvent.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, identity resolution, and CDP architecture.
• Platform expertise across Adobe (AEP, Marketo, RTCDP, Target) and Salesforce.
• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to make architectural and AI trade-offs legible to business leaders.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Experience with agentic workflow platforms, multi-agent orchestration, or marketing copilots running in production, is a plus.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI platform services such as Azure AI or AWS Bedrock and with major model providers, is a plus.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Platform, Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud, or comparable real-time orchestration tooling, is a plus.
• Experience modernizing the content supply chain, including DAM and content operations workflows, is a plus.
• Experience in an enterprise B2B or regulated environment with formal change control, is a plus.
• Vendor certifications in Adobe, Salesforce, or a major cloud platform, is a plus.
• Hands-on experience applying generative or predictive AI in a marketing or customer engagement context, including prompt design, retrieval grounding, and output evaluation, is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI governance practices such as data classification, consent, disclosure, human-in-the-loop design, and bias review, is a plus.
