Laboratory Assistant – Bioanalysis
Our largest UK site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to join the BioAnalysis team.
Job Responsibilities:
- The primary function of the role is to perform test article / reference material weighings for the department. These preparations are critical for the work that the department does. This will involve weighing client owned material down to weights of 1.2 mg. Conservation of this material is critical.
Other job roles include (but are not limited) to:
- Perform equipment verifications and calibrations (pipettes, balances, pH meters etc).
- Prepare reagents, buffers, and other study related solutions as needed.
- Provide general lab cleaning, expired reagent monitoring, and glassware washing.
- Manage the inventory, ordering, E-Workbook registration, storage, organization, and disposal of laboratory supplies. These may include critical reagents, chemicals, consumables, and matrix.
- Perform freezer and refrigerator maintenance.
- Provide ideas, support, and participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory work environment. Demonstrates understanding of Health and Safety compliance by ensuring that policies/SOPs and training are up to date.
- May train or assist less experienced staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma / educated to A-level or equivalent
- Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages).

- Excellent verbal and communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
