POSITION SUMMARY

The Finance & Accounting Manager plays a key leadership role within the Finance & Accounting area of the organization with responsibility for managing core accounting processes, financial analysis, and internal controls while providing business‑relevant insights to support operational and strategic decision‑making while always maintaining the Nth Corporate Culture (see Appendix A).

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial analysis, and technology‑enabled business models, with experience navigating vendor programs, revenue recognition considerations, and margin analysis typical to the value-added reseller (VAR) environment.

This role requires strong multitasking, organizational and customer service skills, as well as cross-functional collaboration, with win-win communication abilities, to ensure alignment with business objectives to drive innovation in delivery. The Finance & Accounting Manager ensures continuity, scalability, and finance and accounting excellence by improving processes, enabling effective use of business applications, and driving intentional adoption of AI tools that measurably improve productivity and quality. The qualified individual in this position may be required to work at different times of the day, including nights and weekends, as dictated by business needs and without prior notice. This is a Salaried Exempt position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following:

Financial Management & Accounting

  • Manages and oversees month‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and GAAP‑compliant financial reporting.
  • Prepares, reviews and approves journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensures proper accounting treatment for revenue recognition, cost of goods sold, rebates, incentives, and vendor programs common to the VAR space.
  • Maintains and strengthens internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other finance‑related third parties.

Financial Analysis & Business Support

  • Prepares and analyzes financial statements, variance analyses, forecasts, and management reports.
  • Provides margin, pricing, and profitability analysis across products, vendors, and customer segments.
  • Supports budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with business leaders to align financial plans with operational objectives.
  • Develops financial models and ad‑hoc analyses to inform strategic decisions, investments, and growth initiatives.
  • Translates financial data into clear, actionable insights for non‑finance stakeholders.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partners closely with the EVP/CFO to support financial strategy, operational planning, and executive‑level reporting.
  • Acts as a functional lead for accounting and finance operations, guiding day‑to‑day priorities and process improvements.
  • Mentors and supports accounting or finance team members, as applicable, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates cross‑functionally with all departments to ensure financial alignment and data integrity.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Leverages financial systems and Excel‑based tools to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance close timelines, reporting quality, and operational visibility.
  • Supports finance‑related system implementations, enhancements, and integrations as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Backup

  • Serves as a connective layer between teams to improve communication and execution.
  • Helps teams navigate priorities, handoffs, and operational dependencies.
  • Supports change management as new processes, systems, tools, or AI capabilities are introduced.
  • Serves as a flexible backup for teams requiring additional support-such as operations-stepping in to maintain momentum, meet deadlines, and reduce operational bottlenecks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and / or Experience

Typically requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Master's degree and/or CPA certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis experience.
  • 3+ years in a senior accountant, accounting manager, finance manager, or equivalent leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience and strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and month-end close processes.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills preferred.
  • Experience in the information technology industry, preferably a Value-Added Reseller (VAR), technology reseller, managed services, distribution, or SaaS organization.
  • Demonstrated experience and strong working knowledge of revenue recognition, vendor rebate programs, and gross margin analysis.
  • Power BI, AI and AI platforms, ERP, and business intelligence experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial analysis, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes.
  • Prior experience working closely with senior finance leadership (Controller, Director, VP, or CFO).

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, month-end close processes, and accounting best practices.
  • Advanced financial analysis, modeling, and Excel Skills.
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition, margin analysis, and vendor-driven financial structures.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple deadlines.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Clear communicator who is capable of explaining financial concepts to non-finance audiences.
  • Demonstrated highly developed skills in communication, computer applications, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, lead a team, and influence without authority.
  • Demonstrated high interest and abilities with respect to understanding business finance and accounting, systems and process improvement.
  • Strong collaboration competency with the ability to communicate win-win scenarios to garner support.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to learn complex workflows and translate them into clear documentation.
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
  • Analytical and results-focused with strong follow-through skills.
  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly, with curiosity and a practical mindset around AI and automation.
