Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Director, you will advance cultural, strategic, operational, and clinical alignment within our medical group.

 

Every day you will provide clinical and managerial healthcare leadership, collaboratively problem-solve, communicate, and strategically plan the development of the medical staff and clinic. You will confirm compliance of medical staff with all state and federal requirements, drive key quality initiatives, and interact with Practice Managers, Directors, the Regional Medical Director, Regional Operations Director, and facility administration.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to drive strategic initiatives and ensure compliance in a complex healthcare environment.

 

• Coordinates medical staff activities to maintain state and federal regulatory standards.
• Oversees the physician monitoring process to provide adequate information for physicians’ re-credentialing and ensure patient safety.
• Physician Patient Satisfaction performance management and behavioral refinement.
• Quality and Peer Review oversight as it interfaces with CommonSpirit Medical Group processes.
• Functions as a liaison between medical staff, the CMO, and medical group leadership, and the facility leadership to communicate administrative concerns, decisions and planning.
• Onboarding and mentoring of new physicians to include appropriate onboarding activity.
• Ensures appropriate clinical supervision of mid-level providers.

Job Requirements

Required

• Doctorate Degree in Medicine (MD or DO)
• Strong previous performance of providing quality and efficiency in patient care and operations.
• Strong track record of recruitment, retention of talent and leadership development.
• Experience with leading and redirecting talent as needed.
• Strong ability to lead in a changing environment.
• Budgetary, and Quality Assurance experience for a physician practice.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state.

 

Preferred

• Affiliation with CommonSpirit for greater than one (1) year.
