Overview
Summary:
The Saw Operator will identify, issue, and saw material per work order instructions.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Interpret work order instructions to prepare material for cutting.
- Follow procedures for proper inspection of material and cut size.
- Cut and issue material per work order instructions.
- Tag material with work order number, count, and next operation using proper color code tags.
- Stage material for shipping using proper shipping guidelines.
- Keep work areas and machinery clean and maintained.
- Train and use proper lifting equipment (forklift) when handling material.
- Constant focus on safely operating machinery and handling of material.
- Understand proper operating procedures for Hem saw, chop saw, band saw, and Kasto.
- Update AX lot notes with all material changes.
- Transfer remaining material back to inventory locations.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Basic computer skills, read written directions, take verbal instructions, able to use measuring devices, and basic math skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Shop environment, use of proper PPE including gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection required. 50 lb. lifting limit.
