Overview
The Interface Manager will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and controlling all technical, construction, stakeholder, utility, and operational interfaces associated with the RCRC Bridges Project. The role is critical to ensuring seamless integration between bridge structures, roadway works, utility diversions, traffic management systems, public realm elements, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
Your role
Interface Management Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement the Project Interface Management Plan in accordance with project requirements and RCRC standards.
- Establish interface management procedures, protocols, and governance frameworks.
- Identify, define, and manage all project interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Interface Registers and Interface Matrices.
- Ensure timely identification and resolution of interface-related issues.
- Facilitate effective communication between all project stakeholders.
Design & Construction Integration
- Coordinate between engineering, design, construction, and project controls teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review design deliverables to identify interface risks and potential conflicts.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary design coordination workshops.
- Ensure engineering solutions are fully coordinated between various disciplines.
- Track design changes and assess impacts on project interfaces.
- Resolve clashes affecting bridge, roadway, utility, and transportation infrastructure works.
Utility & Third-Party Coordination
- Monitor utility relocation and protection programs.
- Ensure utility interfaces are effectively integrated into project schedules and construction plans.
- Facilitate technical reviews and utility approval processes.
Traffic & Operational Interface Management
- Coordinate traffic management and diversion interfaces associated with bridge construction activities.
- Ensure alignment between construction staging plans and traffic management strategies.
- Coordinate with transportation authorities for road closures, lane shifts, and traffic diversions.
- Manage interfaces between ongoing construction activities and live operational road networks.
- Support implementation of mobility and transportation management plans.
Interface Risk Management
- Identify interface-related risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain Interface Risk Registers and mitigation plans.
- Escalate critical interface risks to project leadership when necessary.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored to closure.
Construction Phase Interface Management
- Monitor interface activities during bridge and infrastructure construction.
- Coordinate sequencing and access requirements between multiple contractors and work packages.
- Ensure construction activities are executed without adversely impacting adjacent project works.
- Support construction planning and work-front management activities.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover Interfaces
- Coordinate interfaces associated with testing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure readiness of bridge systems, infrastructure assets, and supporting facilities.
- Support handover planning and operational integration activities.
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams during transition phases.
- Verify that interface requirements are successfully closed prior to project completion.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare weekly and monthly interface management reports.
- Track interface KPIs and project performance indicators.
- Provide updates to project management regarding critical interface matters.
- Support project audits and compliance reviews.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure interface activities align with project HSE requirements.
- Promote safe coordination practices between contractors and stakeholders.
- Monitor interface risks that could impact site safety.
- Support environmental compliance and sustainability objectives.
- Participate in project safety reviews and leadership initiatives.
About you
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree in Project Management, Infrastructure Management, or Engineering Management is preferred.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
- Membership in a recognized professional engineering institution is advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in major infrastructure and transportation projects.
- Minimum 7 years in interface management, project coordination, or design-construction integration roles.
- Extensive experience managing interfaces on large multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Previous Saudi Arabia and GCC project experience is highly desirable.
- Experience working with RCRC, government authorities, PMCs, consultants, or major contractors is strongly preferred.
