JOB DESCRIPTION

The Respiratory and Immune Repair (REPAIR Lab) group is seeking a graduate in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or a related field, holding a Master’s degree in the same area, to join the Respiratory Research Group and contribute to the research project “Differences in Virome Diversity and Its Relationship with Inflammatory Patterns in Asthma According to Disease Severity and Phenotypes” (ISCIII). The successful candidate will conduct laboratory experiments and data collection, participate in specialized research experiments, process and analyse tissues and data, prepare reports, and provide technical support to the team. In addition, the candidate will participate in research meetings and discussions and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting experimental studies (in vivo/ex vivo) related to the asthma research projects currently underway within the group
  • Performing molecular biology techniques, including tissue processing for RNA extraction and real-time qPCR analysis.
  • Help in the sample organization, process, and data analysis obtained during the project: blood, biopsies or paraffin sections
  • Processing tissues for histological analysis and basic staining procedures, as well as acquiring images using microscopy technique
  • Analyzing cell populations using flow cytometry.
  • Conducting in vitro experiments using primary cell cultures and established cell lines.
  • Carrying out laboratory organizational tasks, including order management and reagent inventory control.
  • Take care of routine task for maintaining the lab
  • Maintaining and updating research databases.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in the field of Life Sciences and have completed a Master's degree in a related area.
  • Excellent organization and fluent English.
  • Strong experience in molecular biology technologies
  • Have theoretical and practical knowledge of histology, PCR, ELISA, and primary cell culture techniques.
  • Computational skills (Office, content management systems, etc.).
  • Person able to work independently, take initiative and have good skills in work team


WHAT WE OFFER

  • Permanent contract for scientific and technical activities (Law 17/2022). 
  • Start as soon as possible (September 2026)
  • Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call, will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.
