Description
The Instructor, Customized Training Project EAS Welding reports directly to the Director of Customized Training. The Instructor, Welding provides quality learning experiences, instructs courses for the Customized Training Project, facilitates the learning process, seeks professional development opportunities, and contributes to the development of courses for the Customized Training Project.
**This is a time-limited position supported by and for the duration of the EAS customized training project. The training project is expected to run for 3 years, August 2026-August 2029.**
- Provide and/or facilitate quality experiences in laboratory and/or classroom settings to meet program needs
- Prepare and submit all required CTP reports and/or support the CTP Director in report submission.
- Teach all assigned courses, for the full duration of scheduled instruction.
- Ensure that each class session contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency.
- Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedback.
- Incorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning.
- Maintain cleanliness of instructional areas and laboratories.
- Ensure the proper operation of classroom/lab equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate person(s).
- Recommend textbooks and other instructional materials, including classroom and laboratory equipment to Dept Head of Welding.
- Develop and distribute course syllabi according to established template providing appropriate information to students concerning course expectations and evaluation criteria.
- Maintain appropriate on-campus hours and accessibility for students, RCC Faculty/Staff, and EAS staff
- Provide feedback, as appropriate, for part-time instructional staff and 3rd party vendors for Customized Training Project
- Maintain proper communication and supportive relationships at all times with Director of Customized Training, EAS staff and all other college and community partners associated with the EAS Customized Training Project.
- Diploma in Welding or equivalent experience
- Current SMAW 6G, GMAW 6G, and GTAW 6G certifications (within the last 12 months)
- 1-3 years of experience in fabrication welding.
- A.A.S. in Welding or equivalent experience
- AWS Certified Educator.
- 1-3 years formal teaching experience in the community college setting

- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
