For our Capital Projects organization in Dordrecht, we are looking for a Project Cost Control Engineer
As a Project Cost Control Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining financial control across a diverse portfolio of capital projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Construction, and Finance teams to ensure projects remain financially healthy from authorization through project close-out.
You are not the person managing the projects or building the schedules. You are the person who ensures everyone understands where a project stands financially, which risks are emerging, and what actions are required to keep the project on track.
You will primarily support our Dordrecht site while also providing support to other Chemours locations across Europe and selected Asia-Pacific sites.
What makes this role interesting?
- Responsibility for approximately 50 projects in different phases of execution
- A key role within the largest Chemours manufacturing site in Europe
- Close collaboration with Project Managers, Engineering and Finance teams
- Opportunities to improve processes, reporting and dashboards
- International exposure within a global manufacturing organization
- Direct impact on the financial performance of capital projects
What will you do?
- Prepare monthly project financial reports and cost reviews
- Perform cost analysis and assisting and advising with forecasting activities
- Develop Estimate at Completion (EAC) calculations
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance
- Manage change management processes and change logs
- Facilitate project financial reviews
- Advise Project Managers on cost developments, forecasts and financial risks
- Work with SAP and Ecosys project controls processes
- Support project gate reviews and project close-out activities
- Drive improvements in reporting, dashboards and project controls processes
This role could be a great fit if you
You are highly analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable working in an environment where you manage many projects simultaneously. You enjoy bringing structure to complex situations, challenging stakeholders constructively, and digging deeper when the numbers tell an unexpected story.
In addition, you bring:
- At least 5 years of experience within Cost Control, Cost Engineering or Project Controls
- Experience supporting capital projects – especially when you thrive in an environment where you support let’s say 40-50 smaller projects at the time working with 7 or 8 projects managers.
- Strong forecasting and financial analysis capabilities
- Experience with SAP (SAP PS is an advantage)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to prioritize effectively and maintain oversight across multiple projects
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong English language skills
- The ability to work regularly onsite in Dordrecht, the Netherlands (at least 3 days per week).
Experience within chemicals, petrochemicals, manufacturing, energy, pharmaceuticals, food production or other process industries is beneficial but not essential.
