Salary Range: $100,000 to $108,000 yearly
Schedule: Full-Time | 37.5 hours/week

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …

As the Director of Mission Advancement, you will work collaboratively with the Vice President of Philanthropy on planning, organizing, and directing NMH’s philanthropic efforts. The Director will be an integral and strategic leader for team members in marketing & communications, grant writing, fundraising, and special events. This position will directly support the VP to help lead Philanthropy Staff to conceptualize and produce stellar marketing materials, meet grant deadlines, and execute extraordinary fundraising event experiences. The Director will collaborate with all members of the Philanthropy Team while providing strategic vision and leadership to support development/fundraising and marketing & communications endeavors.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to execute a comprehensive written annual resource plan for philanthropic and marketing & communications with strategies and timelines for donors and prospects in each constituent group, including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Develop actionable operation goals and metrics for the creation, implementation, and necessary reporting systems to support the agency’s strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to increase website and social media traffic through creation of fresh content and providing frequent news and event updates related to fundraising as well as programs and services offered.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with community providers/potential referral sources in the community to raise brand awareness as well as increase our clientele and donor base. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with donor-prospects, develop segmented solicitation strategies, and coordinate effective solicitation by self, colleagues, other agency stakeholders, board, and volunteers, as appropriate.
  • Working with the Campaign Coordinator, ensure that the donor database information is current and accurate.
  • Help coordinate and manage all NMH fundraising events. Collaborate with appropriate staff and volunteers to ensure that all aspects of a successful event are coordinated towards a common goal.
  • Support staff grant writers as necessary with researching, conceptualizing, and writing/editing grants, including regularly monitoring grant websites for new grant opportunities for NMH.
  • Ensure timely reporting and compliance of all required grant award documentation.

Requirements

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…

  • B.A./B.S. preferred with an emphasis or concentration in business, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • Two – five years of professional development/fundraising experience.
  • Must embrace the mission of Newport Mental Health and affiliates.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Have knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, particularly with special events, as well as foundation and person-to-person fundraising.
  • Posses a strong understanding of how to utilize the fundraising database (CRM) as a tool to segment and create targeted messaging and solicitations.
  • Possess the skills and desire to inspire and work joyfully with team members, other agency staff, board members, and other volunteers.
  • Enjoy getting out of the office to build external relationships while still maintaining productive workflow across the department.
  • Be a “self-starter” and goal-oriented to coordinate donor visits and fundraising calls.
  • Be organized “to a fault,” exhibiting meticulous attention to detail and follow through on ever-evolving prioritized tasks and goals.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, concern for people and community, poise, self-confidence, common sense, and empathetic listening skills. 
  • Event planning and grant writing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in non-profit or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
