Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in the health and safety field in a subcontracting environment preferred.
-Experience and/or familiarity with the Ontario Occupation Health and Safety Act Exposure to WSIB and / or COR preferred.
-Proven track record in working hands-on with employees
-Must have strong oral and written communication skills standards, regulations protocols and procedures
Responsibilities:
-Maintain a current knowledge of all safety policies and procedures
-Assist to revision and update safety policies and procedures as required by regulatory requirements, changes in business needs or new workplace hazards
-Ensure all management and supervisory staff complies with the HS program
-Arrange for all meetings including communication of planned meeting times
-Bring known safety issues to the attention of the team
-Assist in reporting of H&S incidents and statistics to senior management at monthly meetings
-Assist to train, develop and deliver H&S training programs to employees, contractors and visitors
-Ensure all employees have required training completed
-Assist to train employees in all workplace hazards
-Assist to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the H&S program
-Assist to ensure all employees are working in a manner that upholds safe work practices
-Provide technical advice and guidance to staff on H&S issues
