Hiring Range
$15.00 - $19.50/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
Responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients, patient's belongings and charts via wheelchair, stretcher, and/or bed to testing sites, operating room, or discharge. Works to ensure that all transport equipment is cleaned and in good working condition.
What you will do
- Efficiently and safely transports patients via stretcher, bed or wheelchair. This includes collaborating with clinical staff to ensure proper transition of medication and oxygen. Communicates with clinical and non-clinical leaders to escalate potential safety issues and ensure proper precautions are taken for high-risk patients.
- Obtains necessary equipment and/or linen required to transport patients. Ensures all equipment needed for transport is clean according to Infection Control policies.
- Ensures legal and policy expectations for transportation are met, including National Patient Safety Goals, HIPAA standards, Infection Control policies, and proper body mechanics.
- Assists with candidate selection and new team member onboarding to include department orientation and training.
- Open to flexible scheduling to meet departmental staffing needs during essential times (i.e. high census, vacant shifts, etc.)
- Assists patients, family members, and visitors with directions, assisting as needed.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
Experience
- 1 year Experience working with the public in a customer service capacity or related (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Preferred)
