The Commercial Banking Associate is primarily responsible for working the lending floor alongside the Senior Lender to complete loan memos and assist with commercial loan customer portfolio management through telephone and in person contact.Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Prepare and underwrite loan packages for Sr. Commercial Lending officers including loan memos, financial analysis, collateral analysis, and customer background
Assist in the tracking and closing on loans in process of closing
Assist with customer contact including business development at times the collections of past dues and overdrafts
Assist in clearing loan exceptions for commercial officers
Attend commercial credit quality meetings that involve business development as well collection strategies of loan and past dues
Attend customer meetings with commercial Sr. Lenders
May develop new commercial business
In some markets, they may maintain a small loan and deposit portfolio
SKILLS
Good oral and written communication skills

Completion of IBC’s Credit Analyst program
For border markets, preferably bilingual (English/Spanish)

EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting
Strong working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office program with an emphasis on Word, Power Point, and Excel is a plus
Completion of IBC’s Credit Analyst Program

Occasional travel is required within the city and out of town
