Job Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, permits, and company policies.
Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and assessments of facilities and operations.
Monitor and maintain compliance programs related to air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, recycling, and chemical management.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports and permit applications as required by environmental agencies.
Investigate environmental incidents, spills, and non-compliance issues, and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate waste management activities, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
Maintain environmental records, documentation, and compliance databases.
Support sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and resource management programs.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, and EHS teams to improve environmental performance.
Conduct employee training on environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with environmental due diligence, environmental impact assessments, and risk evaluations.
Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, consultants, and external auditors.
Participate in emergency response planning and environmental incident response activities
Education/Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Occupational Health, Sustainability, or a related field required.
· 2-5 years of environmental compliance, environmental management, or EHS experience preferred.
· Experience within manufacturing, industrial, construction, utilities, government, or consulting environments preferred.
· Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and applicable state environmental regulations.
· Understanding of environmental permitting and compliance requirements.
· Ability to interpret environmental regulations and implement compliance programs.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental management software.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
· Preferred Certifications
· Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
· Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO)
· Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
· OSHA Training Certifications (30-Hour Preferred)
· Physical Requirements
· Ability to work in office, laboratory, manufacturing, construction, or outdoor environments.
· Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and conducting site inspections.
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
· Exposure to industrial environments, outdoor weather conditions, and occasionally hazardous materials.
· May require occasional after-hours support for environmental incidents, inspections, or audits.
