The Orthopedic Clinic Surgery Center is a growing, state-of-the-art, Ambulatory Surgery Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. Our team of ten Surgeons, ten Mid-Level Providers and our dynamic clinical team are dedicated to providing compassionate and cutting-edge orthopedic care. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Operating Room Charge Nurse to join our lively team.
The Operating Room Charge Nurse serves as the clinical and operational leader of the Operating Room and is responsible for directing, coordinating, and optimizing all day-to-day OR activities to ensure the Surgery Center operates safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Requirements
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Operating Room to ensure safe, efficient surgical services.
- Coordinate daily surgical schedules, staffing assignments, and operating room readiness.
- Supervise and support OR staff, providing leadership, coaching, and performance accountability.
- Monitor patient flow and room turnover to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, Pre-Op, PACU, Sterile Processing, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Serve as a circulating Registered Nurse as needed while providing hands-on clinical leadership.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention practices, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and patient safety efforts.
- Manage supplies, equipment, and staffing resources to support efficient surgical operations.
- Serve as the primary communication liaison for the Operating Room, proactively addressing operational issues and schedule changes.
- Respond to urgent situations, including add-on cases, cancellations, and clinical emergencies, while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience.
- ACLS and PALS certification as required for assigned perioperative area.
- Strong knowledge of AORN standards, AAAHC standards, and infection control principles.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Strong ethical and moral character references.
- Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience.
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) or advanced nursing degree.
- Advanced computer proficiency, with experience with electronic medical records and ASC IT system.
