Water Leakage Technician
Location: London and Thames Water coverage areas
Salary: £14.00 to £15.00 per hour DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm or 7:30am – 5:30pm (40 hours per week)
About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Leakage Technician to join our client’s growing team working across London and wider Thames Water coverage areas.
This is a field-based role for someone with experience in water leakage detection, utilities, plumbing, meter reading, or similar outdoor technical work. You will be responsible for locating and investigating leaks within underground water networks, helping to reduce water loss and support essential infrastructure.
The role involves regular travel across the London area, with occasional travel to other Thames Water regions when required.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out water leakage surveys across domestic and commercial networks
- Identify and locate underground leaks using specialist leak detection equipment
- Investigate water loss issues and provide accurate findings
- Support repair teams with leak information and site details
- Complete paperwork, reports and digital records accurately
- Upload survey data using handheld devices or laptops
- Work independently across different locations while maintaining high safety standards
- Liaise with customers, clients and operational teams when required
- Travel across London and other Thames Water coverage areas as part of the role
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Leakage Technician, Water Network Technician, Leak Detection Technician or similar field-based role
- Experience within the water industry, utilities, plumbing, drainage, metering or engineering sectors would be beneficial
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues effectively
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- Basic IT skills for completing reports and uploading information
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- No formal qualifications are required. We are looking for candidates with the right experience, practical skills and a willingness to deliver high-quality work.
