Summary
Under general supervision, this position works on the pool deck and Lakeside Bar area following Company policies and procedures. This position is responsible for providing exceptional poolside service by taking and delivering food and beverage orders directly to guests, while maintaining the food prep, bar, and pool area in a clean, safe, and well-organized manner. It is important that this team member presents a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality at all times to promote the Drury culture.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Guest Service: Provides courteous, friendly, and fast guest service by anticipating guests’ needs on the pool deck and responding promptly to inquiries and requests.
Poolside Service: Takes food and beverage orders (including alcoholic beverages) and delivers them directly to guests at their lounge chairs or tables.
Bar Support: Works actively in the Lakeside Bar area, assisting with drink preparation, serving guests, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Alcohol Safety: Strictly enforces alcohol service policies, including verifying guest identification to ensure they are 21 or older, and refusing service to anyone who appears intoxicated.
Cash Handling: Maintains accurate cash balances and processes transactions (room charges, credit cards, and cash) securely according to Drury procedures using the POS system.
Cleanliness & Restocking: Maintains and cleans the pool deck, tables, bar, and kitchen areas during and after service hours. Washes smallwares and stores food according to HACCP guidelines.
Teamwork: Works collaboratively with other Kitchen+Bar team members and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Must be 21 years old or older.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to obtain and maintain all appropriate certifications per Company and local requirements (e.g., food handler and alcohol service certifications).
Ability to take written and verbal direction in English and speak English clearly.
Ability to serve a wide variety of drinks and food in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Ability to handle money, make change, and utilize cash register/POS software.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations.
Ability to clean and maintain areas for which responsible, and safely move around the bar and wet pool deck areas.
Performs duties of prep cook or other positions as needed.
