$16.17 - $18.91

Under general direction of the Custodial Supervisor, this position will perform a variety of general custodial maintenance duties necessary for the day to day maintenance of County buildings. Work includes inside and outside tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans all interior areas, i.e. floors, walls, windows, restrooms, kitchens, equipment, furnishings, etc.

• Replaces and refills custodial supplies and maintains in-stock inventory as well as requested supplies.

• Properly disposes of trash, waste, and recyclables as necessary.

• Maintains custodial areas in a clean and orderly manner.

• Moves furniture and equipment as needed to properly clean interior and exterior areas.

• Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to supervisors.

• Practices safety rules and regulations and performs more advanced functions as part of training and development.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record.

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

• At least one (1) to two (2) years of experience in custodial work is preferred.

• Any combination of education and experience may be substituted, so long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Supplemental Information :

Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Attendance for assigned courses or classes pertaining to position and employment.

Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work assignments.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull otherwise move objects, including the human body.

The worker is subject inside and outside environmental conditions with frequent exposure to weather and the elements while on assignment, dust, humidity, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
