Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Summary

Department Introduction

Fab 4's Test Wafer team supplies reliable, high-quality test wafers for manufacturing, development, and continuous improvement across the fab. We work with process, equipment, manufacturing, and operations teams at our site and with engineering teams across Micron's global manufacturing network to set the standard for test wafer performance!

Position Overview

As the Fab 4 Test Wafer Process Engineer, you will own our test wafer recycle, build, and BWS processes. You will lead work to improve wafer cleanliness, reuse, and inventory health, and use data to reduce cost and improve efficiency. You will also work with the Wafer Characterization Team and external wafer suppliers to shape future product and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Own test wafer (TW) recycle, build, and BWS processes. Develop, qualify, and sustain recycle and recovery solutions that improve wafer cleanliness, quality, and reuse.
  • Manage TW inventory and utilization with statistical analysis, trend data, and the TD moves model so manufacturing and engineering always have the wafers they need.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct wafer processing and tool issues on Wet Bench and Spin Scrub toolsets. Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Review and process internal customer requests, change requests, and test wafer requirements.
  • Work with Finance to set the TD wafer processing budget and report performance to plan. Cut costs through better reuse, recycling, and inventory strategies.
  • Build reports, dashboards, automation, and predictive models, and use AI tools to boost team productivity and fab performance.
  • Lead cross-functional projects with site and global teams, wafer suppliers, and the Wafer Characterization Team. Share best known methods (BKMs) and lessons learned locally and globally.
  • Champion safety: complete required training, follow Micron and TD safety and environmental procedures, report concerns immediately, and submit good catches.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Solid understanding of chemistry and wet processing.
  • Experience pulling and analyzing complex process data sets with statistical methods.
  • Proven ability to plan, drive, and complete projects across multiple departments on time.
  • Ability to explain complex analysis to diverse audiences in a clear, actionable way.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing with Wet Bench and Spin Scrub toolsets.
  • Experience with test wafer recycle, reclaim, or inventory management.
  • Skill in building dashboards, reports, automation, or predictive models.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
  • Strong multitasking, time-management, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build effective relationships.
