Description
We are hiring Class A drivers in Hall County and north Atlanta for a dedicated retail fleet where you never touch the freight. You haul the trailer, drop it, and pick up the next one, across many lanes out of the Atlanta area. Solo drivers average about $1,100 a week, and you are home every two weeks and home for Christmas. New CDL holders train with a mentor for $850 a week. Drivers with 6 months or more of recent experience start solo right after orientation.
The numbers
- $0.60 per mile once you run solo
- About 1,900 miles a week
- About $1,100 a week on average
- $20 per stop, $100 flat on short hauls
- $850 a week while you train
- Paid weekly by direct deposit
The account
This is a dedicated fleet for one retail customer, based in the Atlanta area. The work is steady and the lanes are many, so you are not stuck on the same road every day. Freight is dry van and 100% no-touch. Dispatch runs day and night, and weekends are worked. You are home every two weeks, and you are home for Christmas.
If you just finished school
Here is what happens after you apply. A recruiter calls and goes over your license and record with you. You go to orientation, two days at most, with your hotel covered and your bus ticket paid back. Orientation pays $300 once you are hired. Then you ride with a mentor for 3 to 5 weeks, about 200 to 250 hours. You learn backing, trip planning, logs and fueling, and you earn $850 every week. After that, you get your own assigned truck.
If you already drive
With 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, you skip mentor training and go solo after orientation, in your own assigned truck.
Benefits after 30 days
- Medical, dental, vision and prescription
- 401(k) and employee stock purchase plan
- Paid time off
- A free online college degree for you and one family member
