Payments Business Analyst ( TPH )

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

Requirement Validation & Use Case Bucketing: Validate payment business requirements across bucketing them into deliverable payment use cases.

• TPH Capability Mapping & Gap Analysis: Conduct end-to-end capability mapping of incoming customer/interbank transactions to TPH components (Payment Order, Payment Engine, Routing & Settlement, Commission & Charges, Inward/Outward Clearing). Deliver detailed Gap Build Register for identified L3 custom builds.
• Payment Rail Design: Lead discovery and functional solution design for a multi-rail payments architecture covering
• Domestic / Local Rails: NIBSS NIP (Instant), NEFT (Batch), NAPS and Government Gateway.
• High-Value / RTGS: Central Bank RTGS handling pacs.008 and pacs.009 messaging.
• Cross-Border & FX: SWIFT (CBPR+ / ISO 20022 pacs/camt/pain & legacy MT), Pan-African Payment & Settlement System (PAPSS).
• Direct Debits & Collections: NIBSS eMandate, Direct Debit processing, and Cheque Clearing workflows.
• C2B & CAMEL Configuration Design: Design Channel-to-Bank (C2B) rules, mapping logic and CAMEL framework configurations for inward/outward payment parsing, format conversions and clearing directory configuration & management.
• Functional Design: Deliver quality Functional Solution Design Documents (FSDD), Process Flow Diagrams, Capability Matrices and Gap Functional Specs for client sign-off.
• Stakeholder Management: Facilitate interactive discovery workshops with Bank Capability Leads, Operations teams and Architect.

Technical & Functional Skills

• TPH Product Expertise: In-depth, hands-on experience with Temenos Payment Hub (embedded in Transact R23+). Deep understanding of PAYMENT.ORDER, TPH Execution Framework, Payment Repair, Exception Handling, Investigations, and Fee/Charge engines.
• Payment Industry Standards: Experience Implementing ISO 20022 MX messaging standards (pacs.008, pacs.009, pacs.002, pacs.004, camt.053, camt.054, pain.001, pain.008), CBPR+ guidelines, and legacy SWIFT MT standards.
• Clearing & Settlement: End-to-end experience in implementing Cover Payments (pacs.009 COV), Direct Debits, Bulk Payments/Payroll and Nostro/Vostro/Suspense account reconciliation mechanisms.
• Integration: Strong understanding of how TPH interfaces with digital channels (Internet/Mobile Banking), Common Payment Gateways (CPG), Enterprise Service Buses (ESB) and external clearing switches.

Qualification

• 8–10+ years as a Business Analyst in corporate/retail payment transformation programs.
• Minimum 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on Temenos Payments Hub (TPH) experience.
• Track record of delivering approved Solution Design Documents (FSDD) on Temenos Transact/TPH programs
• Proven experience with End-to-end TPH implementation.
