  • Ensure proper wine handling, presentation, and service standards are consistently upheld.
  • Partner with culinary and service teams to develop and communicate food and wine pairings.
  • Lead wine education and training sessions to strengthen the service team's beverage knowledge and confidence.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating wine lists, ensuring accuracy, availability, and alignment with the restaurant's concept.
  • Build strong relationships with wine distributors, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Monitor wine costs, inventory levels, and sales performance to support beverage profitability.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor, assisting the service team and creating memorable guest interactions.
  • Uphold all MML Hospitality service standards and applicable alcohol service regulations.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a Sommelier or wine-focused hospitality role, preferably within an upscale or fine dining restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of Old World and New World wines, varietals, regions, producers, and food pairings.
  • Wine certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or a comparable program preferred.
  • Experience with wine inventory management, purchasing, and cost controls.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make wine approachable for guests with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to exceptional hospitality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with culinary, beverage, and restaurant leadership teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and applicable local regulations.
