Are you a passionate and innovative Design and Technology Teacher looking for your next challenge? A forward-thinking secondary school in Basildon, Essex is seeking a talented DT Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from September 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a committed and supportive department, delivering engaging DT lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and helping shape the creative minds of tomorrow.

The Role:

• Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

• Contribute to curriculum development, practical learning, and extra-curricular projects

• Promote innovation, creativity, and critical thinking in a supportive classroom environment

• Assess, monitor and report on student progress, supporting pupils of all abilities

• Work collaboratively with colleagues in a well-resourced and forward-thinking department

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Experience teaching DT at secondary level (KS3–KS4)

• Strong subject knowledge across design disciplines – resistant materials, product design, or similar

• Excellent communication, classroom management and organisational skills

• A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young people
