About the Opportunity
Cary Prosthodontics is seeking an exceptional, experienced Dental Assistant / Treatment Coordinator to join our team!
This is a unique dual-role opportunity for a highly skilled dental professional who thrives both clinically and administratively. We are looking for someone who can seamlessly transition between providing outstanding chairside assistance and guiding patients through comprehensive treatment plans.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who brings strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to take ownership of their responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Dental Assisting
- Provide exceptional chairside assistance during prosthodontic, restorative, cosmetic, and implant-related procedures.
- Anticipate the doctor's needs and maintain an efficient clinical workflow.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures.
- Assist with impressions, digital scanning, temporaries, and other clinical procedures within the scope of applicable regulations.
- Educate patients on procedures, post-operative instructions, and recommended care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment notes.
- Ensure proper sterilization, infection control, and OSHA compliance.
- Collaborate with the doctor and team to maintain a productive, well-organized clinical schedule.
Treatment Coordination & Patient Experience
- Present comprehensive treatment plans to patients in a clear, confident, and compassionate manner.
- Help patients understand their treatment options, the value of recommended care, and the importance of moving forward.
- Discuss treatment fees, financial arrangements, insurance benefits, and available payment options.
- Assist patients with overcoming financial or scheduling barriers to treatment.
- Coordinate complex and multi-phase treatment plans, ensuring appointments are scheduled appropriately.
- Follow up with patients who have unscheduled or pending treatment.
- Maintain accurate treatment estimates, financial documentation, and patient communications.
- Work closely with the doctor and administrative team to support treatment acceptance and case completion.
- Build lasting patient relationships through exceptional service and consistent communication.
What We're Looking For
- Previous dental assisting experience required, preferably in prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, or implant dentistry.
- Previous treatment coordination or case presentation experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and treatment sequencing.
- Ability to confidently discuss comprehensive treatment plans and financial arrangements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a warm, professional, and patient-focused approach.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- A proactive, self-motivated individual who takes ownership and follows through.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Comfortable working with patients who may be considering significant dental investments.
- Dental software proficiency and strong computer skills.

- Can comfortably transition between clinical assisting and treatment coordination throughout the workweek.

- Brings a positive attitude, professionalism, and a strong work ethic every day.
