About the Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee earthwork construction projects in the Topsham, Maine area. • Coordinate jobsite activities around existing underground utilities and other site-specific conditions.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings to guide field execution.
  • Perform project layout and assist with survey-related field activities.
  • Calculate material quantities, order supplies, and determine completed quantities for payment purposes.
  • Conduct and participate in project meetings to communicate progress, resolve field issues, and coordinate upcoming work.
  • Maintain clear communication with employees and project stakeholders regarding schedules, expectations, and jobsite needs.
  • Complete required project documentation, reports, and other administrative paperwork.
  • Support additional field operations as needed to keep projects on schedule and operating effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of construction supervisory experience, preferably in heavy civil construction, earthwork, site development, or utility construction.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety requirements. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred; training may be provided for the right candidate.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crews, manage jobsites, and maintain productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, heavy equipment, scheduling, and project sequencing.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Experience with DOT, municipal, or commercial site construction projects is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
  • Experience with Topcon GPS survey equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, CAD software, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project is preferred.

Benefits

  • Starting salary of $80,000 annually, adjusted based on experience and knowledge.
  • Full-time, year-round employment.
