KO758 - 1 or 2 Full-Time Caregivers OR Domestic Couple - Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Overview

A private family is seeking one or two experienced, trustworthy, and highly professional caregivers to assist both parents in their private home in Palm Beach Gardens to start ASAP. This position may also be suitable for a domestic couple with the right experience. This is a role that will help support the daily tasks of a loving couple, ages 65 and 72, who are struggling during life transitions and grief. This is a live-in role, ideally 24/6, but the family is open to one or two people, depending on what is needed. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for Mother

Mother has been experiencing significant emotional and mental health challenges following years of stress and the loss of her own mother. She needs a calm, patient, reassuring caregiver who can provide both practical assistance and emotional support.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing daily reminders, reassurance, and companionship.

• Helping with daily routines and personal care, including showering.

• Providing medication reminders and assistance with medication routines as authorized.

• Driving her to appointments, errands, and other activities.

• Helping manage credit card-related tasks and everyday administrative responsibilities.

• Maintaining a reassuring, organized, and supportive environment.

Responsibilities for Father

Father has significant mobility and medical challenges. One leg has been amputated, and his remaining leg is affected by diabetes, making attentive care and mobility support especially important.

Responsibilities include:

• Medication reminders and assistance with prescribed routines.

• Helping with showering and personal hygiene.

• Supporting safe mobility and daily activities.

• Monitoring and communicating concerns about changes in his condition.

• Helping maintain comfort, dignity, and independence wherever possible.

Household Support

The home is a private, single-story residence that has been recently renovated.

• A housekeeper comes approximately one to two days per week.
• The caregiver may also help coordinate with the housekeeper and assist with light household organization, meal preparation, and daily routines.

• The household has a French Bulldog, and the caregiver should be comfortable around dogs with no dog allergies.

  Responsibilities may include:

  • Walking the dog as needed.

  • Helping with the dog's daily care and routine.

  • Arranging or providing transportation to veterinary appointments when necessary.

  • Providing occasional assistance with the dog when the family requires support.

Qualifications

• Experienced in elder care and personal assistance.

• Patient, emotionally mature, compassionate, and reassuring.

• Comfortable assisting with showering, mobility, and medication routines.

• Safe, reliable driver with a clean driving record.

• Organized and able to handle everyday administrative tasks.

• Respectful of privacy and experienced in private-home or high-quality household service.

• Professional, discreet, dependable, and attentive to the individual needs of both parents

• Travel is not expected to be a regular part of the position at this time. However, the family would appreciate a candidate who is open to occasional travel with the family in the future, should the need arise.

Requirements

• Must be a confident, responsible driver with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

• The candidate must be up to date on all required vaccinations and willing to provide appropriate documentation if requested, consistent with applicable requirements and household policies.
