Airbus is looking for a Senior Propulsion Durability and Verification Specialist (f/m) to join our Propulsion Validation & Verification department based in Toulouse, France. 


You will be part of a team developing current and future Airbus commercial propulsion systems. As part of the Propulsion Validation & Verification team, you will be involved in the evaluation of design risks and the testing and verification of product compliance aiming at ensuring best in class operational reliability for the future Airbus Fleet.

Your challenges:

  • Drive verification strategies and critically evaluate Engine Development Plans (EDPs) for product development and technology maturation.
  • Provide technical guidance on ground and flight test needs definition, instrumentation, test readiness, and flight clearances, and how they feed into the overall Verification strategy.
  • Perform qualitative and numerical analysis of powerplant component durability, reliability, and various degradation mechanisms.
  • Coordinate Time on Wing analyses of propulsion components, including the forecasting of the Mean Time Between Unit Removals (MTBUR).
  • Investigate in-service and production issues to contribute to integrity, reliability, and safety assessments.
  • Contribute to the upskilling of the propulsion engineering teams on the topics related to engine durability, reliability analysis and verification aspects.

Your boarding pass:

  • Graduated engineer or equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in propulsion engineering at a major aero engine manufacturer.
  • Proven experience in aero engine verification and testing (including subsystem rig testing, full scale ground testing, and flight testing).
  • Knowledge of validation and verification methods and design assurance/certification processes (CS-E and CS-25 regulations).
  • Detailed understanding of engine removal causes, hot section durability drivers, and mechanical part failure mechanisms (CMAS, TMF, LCF/HCF, creep).
  • Experience in Time-on-Wing evaluation using detailed lifing models and statistical approaches.
