What You'll Do
- Install, start up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial packaging equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues at customer facilities
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation and maintenance
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service while representing CV-Tek professionally
- Complete service reports and communicate findings to management and engineering teams
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Support to resolve technical issues
- Assist customers both onsite and remotely with troubleshooting and support
Training Program
The first three months of employment will be spent at our Elgin facility, working alongside our assembly team and building equipment from the ground up.
This hands-on training provides a deep understanding of our machinery and prepares technicians to confidently support customers in the field.
What We're Looking For
- Technical degree, Associate degree, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience with OEM equipment, industrial machinery, automation, packaging equipment, or other capital equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a passion for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 80%, including overnight and weekend travel.
- Comfortable building relationships with customers and serving as the face of CV-Tek in the field.
- Motivated self-starter who thrives in an independent work environment and takes ownership of results.
Travel & Schedule Expectations
This position requires approximately 80% travel, including frequent overnight travel.
Successful candidates must be comfortable with:
- Extensive travel throughout the United States and Canada
- Occasional international travel
- Working independently at customer facilities
- Weekend travel and weekend work as customer schedules require
- Extended hours when necessary to support installations, startups, and emergency service calls
Candidates seeking a traditional local, Monday-Friday position will likely not find this role to be a good fit.
This is not a traditional Monday-Friday, 8-to-5 position. Flexibility and responsiveness are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications
Required
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience working with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems independently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport
Preferred
- Industrial maintenance, packaging machinery, automation, manufacturing, or field service experience
- Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings
- PLC troubleshooting experience, including exposure to Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Compensation
- Base compensation: $32-38 per hour depending on experience, plus overtime opportunities
