- Always operate in a safe manner, following all company rules including 100% adherence to PPE
- Manage warranty part return process from Customer warranty center and present warranty teardown analysis on a weekly basis to customer
- Lead Root cause investigation of warranty found through part returns and that cross-functional actions are quickly taken to eliminate the cause.
- Collaborate with Hitachi manufacturing and accounting dept to evaluate and reduce warranty debits by OEM
- Collaborate and negotiate with Customers and Hitachi Accounting dept to lead warranty recovery efforts through pass-thru chargebacks, warranty claim disputes, warranty share rate negotiations
- Use data to reduce Hitachi share percentages as they pertain to warranty bills by Customers
- Provide continuous updates to Customers pertaining to status of warranty improvement items
- Ensure manufacturing facilities establish clear and concise timelines for when action items will be implemented and ensure they work towards meeting these timelines
- Prepare and distribute Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports to the management
- Track continuous improvement through measurable reports/graphs
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring Compliance to all Quality related Customer and Internal requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Warranty analysis with emphasis on Toyota Supplier Warranty Cost Share process; Ford Customer Portal and Warranty Management Systems (GWC, GSAR, Covisint); GM Customer Portal and Warranty Management system (TF, OWT Terms & Conditions).
- Must be willing to travel to support customer needs (frequency up to 30%)
- Ability to self-prioritize and work efficiently both alone and in groups
- Preference to Certification in formal problem-solving methodologies
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or equivalent manufacturing experience
Experience:
- At least 2 years prior manufacturing related experience preferred
- Working experience with problem solving tools, SPC, GD&T, and 8D
- Previous working experience in automotive warranty systems
Physical Demands:
- Required to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work 40 – 60 hours per week, including weekends and holiday work required
Travel:
Up to 30% domestic and international travel to suppliers and customers may be required as needed
Work Environment:
Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas
