What you'll do...
Role summary:The (USA) Developmental Technician, Facility Services HVAC/R, supports the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities. This role involves completing required documentation, assisting with capital expenditure planning, and performing preventive maintenance and repairs under supervision. The technician collaborates with management and business partners to identify priorities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This position requires adaptability, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement while upholding company policies and operational standards.
About the team:
The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures Walmart’s facilities operate safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance and timely repairs. Team members apply expertise in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. They manage maintenance schedules, coordinate with contractors, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Focused on accurate documentation and prompt emergency response, the team supports operational excellence. Collaboration and continuous improvement drive their efforts, maintaining a reliable environment that upholds Walmart’s commitment to quality and service.
What you'll do:
- Complete and submit required documentation such as expense vouchers, refrigerant logs, and work orders to senior leadership.
- Assist in gathering capital expenditure lists and developing scopes of work for HVAC/R and energy management system updates.
- Perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshooting on HVAC/R equipment under supervision.
- Collaborate with management, coworkers, and business partners to identify priorities, communicate progress, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain company vehicles and coordinate required maintenance and inspections.
- Adapt to change and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll bring:
- Experience performing HVAC/R maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting in compliance with safety regulations.
- Ability to complete and submit required documentation accurately, including work orders and refrigerant logs.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems, energy management, and preventive maintenance procedures.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Hold and maintain Universal or Type I and Type II Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Option 1: 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Option 2: 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
EPA 608 Certification within 90 days of hire.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
