Description
Assistant Property Manager
Luxury Multifamily Property Management | Boston, MA | Onsite
A well-established multifamily property management company is seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to join the team at a luxury waterfront community in East Boston. This nearly 500-unit, two-phase community offers residents an upscale living experience, and this role is central to keeping daily operations running smoothly.
This is a great opportunity for a proven Assistant Property Manager who is ready to take on more ownership, operate independently, and grow within a luxury property management environment.
Why You Should Apply
- Join a luxury waterfront community with strong long-term growth potential.
- Take on real ownership and independence in a role where your judgment and initiative are trusted.
- Gain exposure to a complex, two-entity property structure that will sharpen your skills across financials, operations, and compliance.
- Build your career with a company that values growth and provides a path to take on more responsibility over time.
About the Role
This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving. The on-site senior community manager splits time across multiple properties, so this position requires someone who can run day-to-day operations with a high degree of independence.
Key Responsibilities
Resident & Financial Operations
- Process security deposit refunds accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review and maintain resident ledgers.
- Handle check vouchers and support month-end close processes.
- Support financial reporting and budget processes as needed.
Property Operations
- Operate independently in the absence of daily on-site regional support.
- Step in to support leasing efforts as backup when leasing agents are unavailable.
- Help maintain smooth day-to-day operations across a large, multi-phase community.
- Navigate the added complexity of managing a two-entity property structure.
Team & Resident Relations
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for residents and support staff.
- Work collaboratively with the on-site community manager and broader property management team.
- Maintain a professional, solutions-oriented approach to resident and operational concerns.
Qualifications
- Prior Assistant Property Manager experience required — this is not an entry-level leasing role.
- Demonstrated experience with security deposit processing, resident ledgers, check vouchers, and month-end close.
- Financial/P&L experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong self-starter mentality — must be comfortable operating with minimal daily on-site oversight.
- Leasing experience helpful, as backup support may be needed.
- Experience in a well-run B/B+ or luxury multifamily community preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
Work Schedule
- Monday–Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.
- Typically 2–3 Saturdays per month, with 1 Saturday off per month.
- A weekday off is provided when working a Saturday.
- Some flexibility required based on occupancy and business needs.
The Ideal Candidate
You're a motivated, detail-oriented property management professional ready to step into a luxury community and take on more responsibility. You're comfortable managing complexity, working independently, and being a dependable presence on-site. If you're looking to grow your career in luxury multifamily property management, this is a strong next step.
