Description
Job Description:
At National Church Residences, every role connects to one mission: enriching the lives of seniors and their families. With 360+ communities, we’re the nation’s largest not-for-profit provider of affordable senior housing and services. Every one of those communities depends on the contractors who repair roofs, the suppliers who stock our healthcare teams, and the partners who keep buildings running, and every one of those partners needs to be paid accurately and on time. As Accounts Payable Manager, you’ll lead the team that makes that happen across our Affordable Housing, Healthcare, and Parent entities.
The basics
- Schedule: Full-time, hybrid, based in Dublin, OH
- Reports to: Sr. Director Accounting
- Leads: An accounts payable team of four
What you’ll do
- Lead the full AP cycle across multiple entities, from vendor setup and invoice approval to payment and month- and year-end close
- Build and lead the team. Set goals and service expectations, balance workloads, and coach your team’s development.
- Be the escalation point. Resolve vendor disputes, payment discrepancies, and complex questions from vendors and internal partners.
- Protect the process. Maintain strong internal controls and documentation, support internal and external audits, and manage 1099 reporting.
- Modernize how AP works. Recommend and implement automation and workflow improvements, help define KPIs, and take part in system upgrades in Workday.
What you need
- 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including supervisory or management responsibility
- Experience managing AP in a multi-entity organization
- Strong knowledge of AP principles, accounting practices, and internal controls
- Experience with ERP systems and electronic invoice workflows (Workday specifically, is preferred)
Nice to have
- Experience in affordable housing, healthcare, nonprofit, or property management
- AP work in Yardi a plus
- Associate’s degree in accounting
