Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join an established building main contractor in Southern England. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to drive health and safety standards across substantial construction projects.
The Company
A building main contractor delivering construction projects across the region, with a strong focus on maintaining safe working environments and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
The Role
The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing health and safety practices across construction sites, ensuring compliance with current legislation and company procedures. Duties will include conducting site inspections and audits, advising project teams, investigating incidents, delivering training and promoting a positive health and safety culture. This is a hands-on, site-focused role covering a range of projects across the area.
Experience Required
- Previous experience in a Health and Safety Manager or similar role within the construction industry with a main or large regional contractor.
- Strong knowledge of current health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
- Relevant health and safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH and ideally up to or including level 6 certifications.
- Excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills.
- The ability to engage effectively with site teams, subcontractors and management.
- Demonstrate CPD commitments and achieved or working towards CMIOSH status
