Architectural Technologist (Bilingual French/English) – Retail & Banking

Our client is a long-established, award-winning architecture firm in Toronto with a large, varied portfolio across commercial office, retail, mixed-use, and institutional work. Their retail group delivers branch and office projects for one of Canada’s major banks, an ongoing program that gives technologists steady, repeat work and a chance to really learn a client’s standards. It’s a firm with deep technical bench strength, so you’ll be working alongside experienced technologists and architects who’ve delivered projects at every scale.

Why is this role open:
The bank program is growing, and a good share of it needs someone who can work comfortably in French with project teams, consultants, and authorities. They’re adding a bilingual technologist to take on that work and grow with the account.

Responsibilities:

• Produce drawing sets for retail bank branches and bank office projects, from design development through construction documents
• Apply the client’s brand and design standards consistently across multiple locations
• Communicate in French and English with client reps, consultants, contractors, and municipal authorities
• Coordinate drawings with structural, mechanical, and electrical consultants
• Develop details, including building envelope and storefront conditions
• Prepare permit drawings and respond to plans examiner comments
• Support contract administration, including shop drawing reviews, site visits, and deficiency lists
• Keep drawings, project files, and documentation organized across a multi-site program

Must-haves:

• Fluent in French and English, written and spoken
• Diploma or degree in architectural technology or a related field
• Experience as an Architectural Technologist, from junior (2 years) through senior levels considered
• Experience producing construction documents
• Proficiency in Revit

Nice-to-haves:

• 5-10 years of experience
• Contract administration experience
• Strong building envelope detailing skills
• Retail, bank branch, or multi-site rollout experience
• OAAAT / Architectural Technologist designation

Work style: In office / Hybrid, 4 days per week minimum - Mid-town Toronto
Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000
