About the Role

 

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future direction of digital architecture at Flinders University.  As the Senior Architectural Lead, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading a newly formed collective architecture function, bringing together multiple architecture disciplines and domains to develop a cohesive and future-focused digital environment for Flinders University.

 

As a key contributor to the development and delivery of the University's Digital Strategy, you will work closely with university leaders and stakeholders to drive strategic innovation and influence technology direction that support the University's long-term objectives.

As part of the leadership team within Digital Strategy and Innovation, you will help shape the future directions by leading, supporting and driving innovative solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes for students, academics, staff and the wider University community.

 

Providing strategic and operational leadership to relevant stakeholders and teams within IDS, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the current and target state enterprise architecture, reference architecture and technology roadmap. The role also focuses on improving the effectiveness, sustainability and cost efficiency of solutions through the identification and replacement of legacy components and the reduction of technical duplication, complexity and inefficiency.

 

You will work closely with IDS teams to ensure priorities are aligned with the strategic and operational objectives of customers, while leading a team of professional staff and providing strong people leadership and performance management.

This position makes a significant contribution to the University's strategic plan to "Changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters" by 2035, by enabling the delivery of secure, sustainable and future-focused digital architecture and technology solutions that support teaching, research and operations across the University.

About You

 

You have extensive experience building and managing customer relationships within a complex organisation and possess a strong understanding of contemporary agile ways of working, including experience operating within matrix environments. You are recognised for your strategic thinking, business planning capability and growth mindset, and are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration.

 

With high level skills in leading a team to its full potential, including advanced interpersonal and relationship management skills and the ability to manage staff performance, you possess advanced interpersonal influence and demonstrated ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff and customers across a diverse organisation particularly during the design, management and implementation of customer solutions.

 

You exercise advanced strategic thinking, planning and analytical skills that enable you to develop and implement technology strategies aligned with organisational objectives. You bring extensive experience applying contemporary enterprise architecture frameworks within complex environments and have a proven ability to influence, negotiate and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders to deliver customer-focused technology solutions.

 

The successful candidate will hold appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant technical area, and / or have equivalent demonstrated experience in a complex IT environment

Information and Digital Services (IDS) are a pivotal resource of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. The IDS team apply technical expertise to support university projects and provide core services such as the IDS Service Desk, Audio visual, simulation and event services, Information security and identity access management services and more.

Appointment to this role is conditional on the completion of required pre-employment checks and declarations, each of which must be satisfactory to the University. This includes:

• A current completed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Gender Based Violence Declaration which is satisfactory to the University.
